Why Electrical Safety Fails in the Pharmaceutical Facilities?

Unintended tracking pathways caused by sterile chemical vapors.
Loose connections caused by high-frequency vibrations from centrifuges and mixers.
High humidity and constant washdowns destroy insulation on wires.
The need for strict power continuity increases the likelihood of dangerous arc flashes.

Duratuf Insulating Mats

Duratuf insulating mats are made of quality-tested elastomeric compounds that give them their essential dielectric strength.

What IT and Data Centres Look for Before Buying Insulating Mats

Besides assessing pricing, procurement teams and safety auditors evaluate compliance, supply reliability, and lifecycle performance of an electrical mat. Key Evaluation Factors:

High dielectric strength for HT and LT panels

Resistance to oils, coolants, and industrial moisture

Class-specific thickness according to mill voltage ratings

Fire-retardant and self-extinguishing material properties

Anti-skid dotted surface for stability on oily floors

Permanent BIS markings for verified safety compliance

Frequently Asked Questions

Does XVolt meet the stringent hygiene and VOC requirements of cleanrooms?
XVolt IS 15652 elastomer mats do not shed carbon particles and are low odor. Compared to recycled rubber mats, XVolt electrical mats are ideal in situations where the highest levels of air quality and contamination control are needed, such as in cleanrooms and sterile compounding areas. Connect with us for the technical datasheet of this product.
How does XVolt hold up to aggressive CIP (Clean-in-Place) chemicals and disinfectants?
Pharmaceutical floors are often exposed to a variety of chemicals, such as IPA (Isopropanol) and hydrogen peroxide. XVolt has a special industrial strength polymer bond, which makes it resistant to chemical breakdown. Therefore, it will not become brittle or lose any of its dielectric properties due to repeated cycles of sterilization. However, we do not recommend constant chemical exposure.
Why is XVolt safer than traditional rubber mats in solvent-laden API areas?
Fire is a significant hazard in API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) units where flammable solvents are involved. XVolt electrical mat is not only certified as fire-retardant and self-extinguishing, but it also contains and controls localized electrical sparks, preventing the spread of fires. Typical rubber mats, on the other hand, could provide fuel to the fire.
Is there an option for purchasing XVolt units in particular colors to fit the "Zoning" of our sites?
Yes. To support your facility’s safety and visual management, we can offer XVolt units in alternate colors (Blue, Black, or Red) for bulk purchases. This will allow your EHS staff to see the distinction between LT and HT zones or various grades of cleanrooms at a quick glance.
What role does XVolt electrical mat play in supporting multi-site standardization and cost savings for pharma groups?
For pharmaceutical corporations with multiple manufacturing sites, we offer a Centralized Supply Program. By standardizing on XVolt electrical mat across all units, you ensure uniform safety compliance for global audits while benefiting from bulk economies of scale. We manage the logistics and staggered deliveries to ensure your maintenance schedules are met without you needing to hold excess inventory on-site. Get in touch to know more about this!
