Premium Quality Electrical Rubber Mats in Jordan for High-Voltage Safety

Jordan’s electricity sector is governed by NEPCO (National Electric Power Company) for transmission and the EMRC (Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission) as the independent regulatory authority. Distribution is handled by three regional companies such as JEPCO in central Jordan, IDECO in the north, and EDCO in the south and Aqaba, each operating distribution networks at 33kV and 11kV fed from NEPCO’s 132kV and 400kV transmission grid. IEC 61111:2009 is the recognized standard for electrical insulating mats across Jordan’s utility, industrial, and infrastructure installations.

Jordan’s heaviest industrial electricity consumers are its mining and processing operations. The phosphate and potash sectors, which includes JPMC, Arab Potash Company & others, operates large mining and processing facilities in southern Jordan, each with substantial electrical infrastructure requiring certified safety equipment. Jordan’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, one of the largest in the Arab world, operates across Amman and Zarqa with controlled electrical room environments. The Aqaba Special Economic Zone hosts port, logistics, and industrial operations with growing power infrastructure requirements. Across all these sectors, electrical safety compliance is an active EHS audit concern rather than a passive procurement item.

Duratuf electrical insulating mats are type-tested to IEC 61111:2009 and ASTM D178 across Class 0 to Class 4, covering working voltages from 1.0 kV to 36.0 kV. The IEC 61111:2009 range covers the full span of NEPCO’s distribution network voltage levels from 11kV to 33kV. ASTM D178 mats are available for international joint venture projects and specifications that reference American norms. Both ranges are manufactured from elastomers free from any insertion, are flame retardant, and are produced in standard and custom dimensions to suit Jordan’s varied installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

NEPCO’s transmission network operates at 132kV and 400kV. Jordan’s distribution companies like JEPCO, IDECO, and EDCO operate at 33kV and 11kV. For 11kV distribution substations, Class 2 (max use voltage 17.0 kV, AC proof voltage 20.0 kV) is the correct specification. For 33kV installations, Class 3 (max use voltage 26.5 kV) or Class 4 (max use voltage 36.0 kV) applies depending on substation configuration.
