Duratuf Premium Electrical Rubber Mat in Malaysia for High-Voltage Safety
Electrical safety in Malaysia is governed by a dual legislative framework. The Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994 govern all electrical installations, requiring compliance with MS IEC standards for safety equipment. The Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSH Act 1994), enforced by DOSH, governs workplace safety obligations for employers across all industrial sectors. IEC 61111:2009 (adopted in Malaysia as part of the MS IEC framework) is the applicable standard for electrical insulating mats used in switchgear rooms, substation operator areas, HT/LT control panels and other electrical installations.
Malaysia’s industrial requires electrical rubber mat for distribution network supplies power at 11kV, 22kV, and 33kV across Peninsular Malaysia, with SESB and Sarawak Energy managing distribution in Sabah and Sarawak respectively. PETRONAS operates one of the world’s largest LNG complexes through Malaysia LNG (MLNG) at Bintulu, Sarawak, along with extensive petrochemical operations at Kerteh and Gebeng. Penang’s Electronics and Electrical (E&E) industry cluster require certified electrical safety equipment in fab and plant utility infrastructure. Malaysia’s rubber glove manufacturing sector operates large manufacturing facilities with substantial electrical infrastructure. Johor’s rapidly expanding data centre corridor require certified safety matting across substation and high-density power facility installations.
Duratuf electrical insulating mats are type-tested to IEC 61111:2009 across Class 0 to Class 4, covering working voltages from 1.0 kV to 36.0 kV. The IEC 61111:2009 standard covers the full range of TNB’s distribution network voltages from 11kV to 33kV, including the 22kV distribution level used in parts of Johor and Perak. We also supply ASTM D178 electrical mat for demanded industries. Both ranges are manufactured from elastomers free from any insertion, are flame retardant, and maintain their dielectric properties in Malaysia’s industrial conditions.
